Atradius and Unilever: partners in Rembrandt 400

Amsterdam, 08 December, 2005 - Atradius and Unilever sponsor festivities to mark the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Rembrandt’s birth

Atradius and Unilever are the main sponsors of the festivities in the Rembrandt House Museum to mark the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Rembrandt’s birth. Under the banner ‘Rembrandt Year in the Rembrandt House’, 2006 will be devoted to paying tribute to the most important Dutch painter of the Golden Age. This cultural partnership offers credit insurer Atradius the opportunity to link its name nationally and internationally to the world-famous artist Rembrandt. Through its association with the Rembrandt House, Unilever adds an important cultural dimension to its sponsorship policy.

 

Ed de Heer, director of the Rembrandt House Museum, is delighted with the support these prestigious organizations are providing the Rembrandt House. ‘A great deal of money and energy is needed to bring culture to the attention of a broad audience. With the assistance of Atradius and Unilever we have the opportunity to organize unique, exclusive exhibitions that highlight unexpected aspects of Rembrandt. Good examples of this are the retrospective ‘Rembrandt. A Genius’s Quest’ and the exhibition ‘Uylenburgh & Son. Art and Commerce in Rembrandt’s Time’ which will be held in the museum in April and September 2006.’
