How long does the policy last?
The policy would normally last for one year, but longer term policies are available to provide extra security and peace of mind.
What about renewal?
We renew the terms and conditions at renewal date. Your Atradius Account Manager will discuss this with you at the time.
Do I need to insure all of my business?
The Modula Policy is designed to cover your whole turnover, either export or domestic business or both. This allows us to cover a fair spread of risk. We are able to exclude certain markets or customers from the scope of cover in some circumstances, please speak to your Atradius representative.
What potential risks can I cover?
The policy is designed to offer the most comprehensive credit insurance cover available. As well as covering the traditional risks of non-payment such as buyer default or insolvency, the Modula Policy also covers political causes of loss. These are events that can prevent your customer paying what is due to you under the contract, but are out of the customer’s control. These include government moratorium, war, exchange rate transfer and local currency problems.
What countries are covered?
There are no standard country exclusions under the policy. From time to time Atradius will amend or adjust cover availability on a market depending on the economic, social and/or political circumstance that prevails in the market at the time. When this happens you will be informed as soon as possible.
Can you collect my debts?
There is an integrated collections service linked to the policy. For all insured debts under the policy Atradius Collections will be able to advise and take action to recover the debt.
How much does a Modula Policy cost?
Usually less than half a percent (< 0.5%) of a company's total insured turnover. However, as the Modula Policy is specifically tailored to meet your needs, the price ultimately depends on the nature of the risks to be insured and the type and scope of cover you require. Your Atradius representative will be able to discuss the price of a policy with you.
Where can I get help if I have any questions about my policy?
As a customer of Atradius you will have direct access to an Account Manager who will assist you with any query you have on your policy.
Is there an excess attached to the policy?
All of our credit insurance policies will include an excess. The type and amount of the excess will depend on the scope of the cover and the risks to be insured under the policy.
Is my business compatible with a Modula Policy?
The policy has been designed to accommodate businesses of all sizes in all sectors. However, to make sure that this is the right solution for you and the risks that you want to cover, simply call us on 132 519.
What if I use a broker?
If you use the services of a specialist credit insurance broker or a general insurance broker we are happy to discuss the terms of cover and the details of the policy with your broker. We offer specific terms of trade for brokers and will work with the broker to deliver the cover you need to support your business.
